The AquaMate is a modular, automated water sampler designed for field research applications.
It combines high sampling capacity, reliable sealing, and flexible triggering options in a compact, weatherproof housing.
Key Features
- High Sampling Capacity
Each AquaMate module can hold up to 12 sealed syringes (10 ml up to several liters).
Up to 5 modules can be connected to one SmartSampler2, providing a total of 60 samples per deployment. - Flexible Sampling Triggers
Sampling can be started based on:- Time schedules
- Sensor readings (e.g., water level, conductivity, turbidity)
- Remote control via SmartTransmit data link
- Sealed & Filtered Samples
- Uses luer lock syringes for airtight storage.
- Supports direct tubing to fill larger containers.
- Inline filter (50 mesh = 297 µm) protects the system from solids.
- Optional plug-in filters allow pre-filtration of each sample.
- Minimized Cross Contamination
Automatic flushing before each sample reduces carry-over between samples. - Rugged & Weatherproof Design
Compact and portable for transport to remote field sites.
Designed to withstand rain, splash water, and harsh outdoor conditions.
System Requirements
- SmartSampler2 controller (for triggering, logging, and coordination).
- External pump for water intake.
Typical Use Case
You can deploy two AquaMate modules (24 samples total) connected to one SmartSampler2. Sampling can then be triggered:
- Every 6 hours over several days,
- When river stage rises above a set threshold,
- Or remotely during a storm event.
This setup allows event-based water quality monitoring with sealed, low-contamination samples ready for transport and analysis.
Note
AquaMate modules can be combined with other Pods and extensions, enabling integrated field setups with pumps, valves, and real-time data transmission.
