Before installation

Minimum Required Parts

Before installing the AquaMate, make sure you have at least the following components:

  • SmartSampler – Core control unit
  • AquaMate – Valve control module
  • Prefilter – To protect the AquaMate from large particles
  • Pump – For fluid transport through the system
  • Power Supply – 12VDC, battery, or a similar power source
  • Tubing – To connect the pump, prefilter, and AquaMate
  • Port Tubing – For sample collection and distribution

Optional Components (Recommended for Specific Applications)

Depending on your sampling requirements, you may also need:

  • Flow Sensor – For precise flow rate monitoring
  • Sample Container – Syringe, bag, or other suitable vessel
  • Tube-to-Luer Lock Fitting – For secure sample connections
  • Cooler – For temperature-sensitive samples
  • Additional Accessories – As needed for specific setups

Ensure all components are properly sized and compatible to avoid leaks and pressure drops during operation.

Preparing for Installation

Before installing the AquaMate, follow these preparation steps to ensure a smooth deployment and optimal performance:

  1. Inspect for Damage: Check the unit for any signs of damage. Verify that all screws, connectors, and seals are intact.
  2. Check Seals and Connections: Ensure that all O-rings, gaskets, and cable seals are properly seated and undamaged to maintain the weatherproof rating.
  3. Clean the System (if necessary): If the AquaMate has been stored for a long period or used in a previous deployment, run a clean cycle to remove any residual contaminants.
  4. Power and Communication Check: Test the power connections and communication ports to confirm proper operation before placing the unit in the field.
  5. Firmware Update (Optional): Check if the SmartSampler is running the latest firmware version for improved functionality and stability.
  6. Site Assessment: Ensure the installation site is suitable for the AquaMate, including proper mounting options, adequate power supply, and sufficient protection from physical impacts.
  7. Pre-Deployment Calibration (if required): If the AquaMate will be used for precise sample collection, consider calibrating the flow sensors before installation to ensure accuracy.
