The SmartSampler2 provides a combined Analog / UART connector with shared power supply pins and six signal pins. Each signal pin can either be used as an Analog input (0–5 V) or as part of a UART port (TX/RX).

🔌 Connector Pinout
The 8-pin connector includes a common supply (V+ and GND) and six configurable signal pins:
| Pin | Function | Dual Use |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Analog 1 / UART1 TX | Selectable in software |
| 2 | Supply GND | Common ground |
| 3 | Analog 2 / UART1 RX | Selectable in software |
| 4 | Analog 3 / UART2 TX | Selectable in software |
| 5 | Supply V+ | Common power supply |
| 6 | Analog 4 / UART2 RX | Selectable in software |
| 7 | Analog 5 / UART3 TX | Selectable in software |
| 8 | Analog 6 / UART3 RX | Selectable in software |
⚙️ Channel Selection
In the Basic tab, each of the six signal pins can be configured as either:
- Analog input → Voltage measurement in the range of 0–5 V.
- UART signal → Assigned as TX or RX for one of the three available UART ports.
Example:
- Enable
Analog 1andAnalog 2→ Both pins operate as analog inputs. - Switch
UART1ON → Pins 1 (TX) and 3 (RX) are reserved for UART1 communication and no longer available as analog inputs.
💾 Save Settings
- Press Save to apply the channel selection.
- Changes take effect immediately and persist after restart.
📌 Notes
- Each UART requires two pins (TX + RX).
- When a pin is used for UART, it is not available as an analog input.
- Supply pins (V+ and GND) are common for all connected devices.
- Ensure correct wiring when combining analog sensors and UART devices on the same connector.
